ACTIVITIES IN PEMBROKESHIRE -Walking

Apart from the 186 miles Coastal Path, there are hundreds of miles of paths in Pembrokeshire to be explored and enjoyed. There is public transport to take you to the start of your walk etc if you wish- more information can be obtained from e.g. Richards Bros a local bus company which runs the Poppit Rocket between Cardigan and Fishguard and stops conveniently at various points along the coastal path in this area. There are similar public transport schemes for the rest of the county.

Newport lies between the sea and the Preseli Hills and so is also a convenient starting point to explore the latter with its beautiful tapestry of many colours attractive at any time of year but perhaps particularly so in the late summer and autumn.

There is a well-stocked traditional ironmonger in town that stocks outdoor clothes etc and also a shop dedicated to horse riding and the outdoors.

Plenty of information re routes and points of interest can be found in the many leaflets etc of the Pembrokeshire National Park. For more details they can be contacted at or the information can be obtained at the Tourist Information Centre in Long Street in Newport.
